Motivated, dedicated and diverse
Although the majority of the students in our face-to-face degrees are from the Southeast, many come from others parts of the United States as well as foreign countries, including Japan, Brazil, Columbia, the Caribbean, and Europe. While many pursue careers in journalism upon graduation, a number of them have used the skills they acquired in the degree program to be successful in careers such as law, business, public relations, advertising and academia. Our students often comment about how faculty treat them as professional peers while offering advice and support to help them achieve their career goals. As a department, we live by the motto, “We’re not just a department; we’re a community.” We expect to be no less so in our new online degree, the master’s in Digital Journalism and Design.
